This book is a collection of State of the Union addresses given by James Monroe during his tenure as president. These addresses serve as important primary sources regarding the state of the United States during its early decades. The famous Monroe Doctrine that is still discussed to this day was first declared by James Monroe in one of these addresses.


James Monroe was a Founding Father of the United States who served as the country’s fifth president. He is best remembered today for his “Monroe Doctrine”.
